“No man ever steps in the same river twice, for it’s not the same river and he’s not the same man.”

~Heraclitus

Heraclitus (540-480 B.C) was from Ephesus, and is said to have written one book. Even in antiquity, he was known for his deliberate, obscure riddles.

Heraclitus believed that the cosmos are continuously, incessantly bursting into changes. Nothing is static; not man, not universe.

Hence the remark, “You haven’t changed a bit!” is simplistic to the point of being flawed. Because we’re all changing, evolving (hopefully) into better versions of ourselves. We’re continually losing bones, flesh, blood. Gaining opinions and desires. Overcoming fears, letting go of hate, experiencing love. Need I go on?

Some things grow in us, others perish.

      1. I understand the sagging feeling, I also realise it’s so incredibly difficult to be positive sometimes. But the bad stuff, it’ll soon pass. It always has, always will.

Perhaps you already know all this, I’m just trying to remind you:) flood your mind with the good stuff, leave no room for the baddies!
